Getting Attention At All Costs- The Game

There is a game people play—attention at all costs—no matter who it hurts or what it costs.

Pettiness and greed are two players.

Lies and gossip two more.

And vengeance and malice round out our table.

There’s no room for mercy and forgiveness and kindness, not when all these players make their move. These players keep you on the defense, focused on the wrong things at the wrong time, where confusion and chaos reign.

That is their game—to throw you off yours.

But it’s not a game. You have a unique purpose no one else can fill, and you cannot step into your purpose while you’re busy playing their game.

There’s no room left for you when you’re filling your day with “them.”

How then do you play?

You step away.

You don’t get stuck in the moment.

You pause, reflect, reset, and make your move.

You move into your place, not the place someone else put you in.

Your life is not some chessboard, your days spent moving pieces around but not going anywhere. Your life is a magnificent journey that starts with one step.

So “The Game”…let others play it…while you get on with living, because getting attention at all costs…

Always costs something.
