Forever Blue

And so there is a loneliness

That greets the break of day.

A clinging to a wandering,

To a grey and shapeless way.

But in the summer evenings

That lay beyond the land.

The magic kingdom’s laughter,

Turns our head again.

And peaking o’er the edges

Whimsy scurry goes.

The forest weeps, the birds asleep,

A sad song no one knows.

Heaping on the wonder

The fanciful of beasts.

Playing in their comfort,

Alone in mystery.

And so the pale-blue mountains,

Watchers from afar,

Sigh for Earth’s long sorrow,

Beneath enchanted stars.

Long before the sun has set

The twilight gleams anew.

For distant lands, and darkness hands,

The hills forever blue.
