Sweet Whispers

How can the morning come and the earth still spin around,

When my whole world has changed, the words come crashing down.

How can the sun still shine, and the moon take up its place,

How can my breaths still come, a smile upon my face.

Beneath the prayers and comfort, beneath the coming dawn,

My thoughts steal in to quiet, my storm beneath the calm.

He promises us sweet joy, an elixir all too rare,

He loves us beyond measure, a love beyond compare.

And there I sit in solitude beneath the ocean bright,

A thousand stars watch over me on this still, bitter night.

But in their passing over, the heavenly hosts proclaim,

I see you in your silence, all heaven shouts your name.

Beyond the pitchy blackness, the coolness of the air,

Lies the waters gentle, heaven’s brilliant stair.

Symphonies are sounding, choirs of pure delight,

Beyond the jeweled splendor, beneath the hushed quiet.

There you’ll find your glory, the rest the story told,

There you’ll find your joy, upon the streets of gold.

Hold fast now the trumpet, the clarion call to sound,

Stand in heaven’s river, washing you all around.

The next is but a step, like all that came before,

A pause, a turn, a road to learn, another open door.

I bind you now with courage, faith and honor true,

I bind you to my bosom, my sweet whispers all for you.
