No Matter the Darkness, the Light Always Comes

My life is a dichotomy, torn between those sitting in the dark among the cliffs, waiting for someone else to pass the cup, and those who stand on the shore greeting strangers with open arms.

Some say “I am all amuck,” while others speak of marvels. We fight two battles. Some say the battle is theirs not ours but those are the ones who look at hollow victories. We are not meant to sojourn this life alone. We are meant to cast our eyes on the broken, not look on while men die like dogs.

No matter the darkness, the light always comes. What if you are the light? What if you listen, while all the others turn away? What if you run out while others run in? What if instead of souring about your experience, the condition sharpens you and you go forward?

Pull out the weeds…the misty gray of dawns and let light fall into the house of darkness. You are worthy. Do not withhold your light. Do not be like a night without the stars. Be a torch bearer. Walk through the lines…through the shadows. Look then look again. And when night falls, remember these thumping words.

No matter the darkness, the light always comes.
